Jaago Bharat

Democracy will win only when there is 100% Voter's attendance.

Can this be a peoples mandate?

ours is the biggest democracy on the face of mother earth.... and tdy the latest 5year Lok Sabha Election results which are the very heart of the democracy is out....

a party has been elected and it only has very lil job to do gathering a handful of seats by of-course DEALS wit the others or the 3rd front.. seems like an easy task and more or less our prime minister till the next assembly polls is decided...

the leaders of the winning party proclaimed that this is peoples decision and they have voted for them for a list of reasons..... fair enuf, anyone aftr winning would ve done d same thing.....

but i wonder....... the total average voting percentage throught the country is not even 50% !!!!

in this context..... can this mandate be a clear indication of the verdict of the whole nation???

these few tots cme to my mind as i try to dissolve the news of the new govt being RE-FORMED!

Bad Officials are elected by good citizens who do not Vote

Those who stay away from the election think that one vote will do no good.'Tis but one step more to think one vote will do no harm

Ignorance of one voter in a democracy impairs the security of all

I Vote no One !!

the next question which comes to my mind when i want to vote but m not satisfied by the candidates... i cant take up the responsibility of standing in an election myself due to my personal commitments and also i don thnk m good enuf person to represent my constituency, the question which definitely comes to my mind is wheathr i can cast a negative vote?

i mean to say tat i don support any candidate who is standing for elections... and if the no. of negative votes r more than the margin of victory while counting , a re poll is conducted in that constituency!

i guess we all have got those fake 49-O emails in our inbox... nw in this elections its confirmed tat such things have not been implimented still

all u can do it register ur name and say tat u don wanna vote anyone, as of now it is nt considered to be negative vote... and more over there will be no re-poll

click here for furthr info about 49-O

we must urge the election commission to implement this idea of negative vote at least from next assembly election.
a separate option on the e-ballot stating " None of the Above !"

this cud lead to better voter turn outs .. and it wud furthr empower the strength of citizen and his right to vote!

Shame on U Mumbaikars!!

an event occurred in nov last year in mumbai which left d entier world stunned and take notice of it helplessly and with shock! the city was attacked !!

and who were blamed for it??the politicians!!! and the " Chalta hai ! " attitude of public as a whole.....we saw the sacking of major leaders of the mumbai legislature as well as in d center .

as i remember thr was a huge rally on dec 3rd ,exactly 1 week aftr the unfortunate incident, a show of strength, a show of solidarity..... i had in myself the greatest hope tat this wud change the very system and the way the politicians see the citizens of india and may it force them to find a betr way of governing!!

i saw interesting placards being used it those rallies... like these i ve put up here....

there was anothr rally in mumbai, whr thousands of ppl gathred to hold hand in hand and cover the entier city with a human chain.....

for me these were the signs of hope, signs of a nation which knos that it is not ready to be governed by some dummies, it wants to select n elect their leaders and the leaders are accountable.....

but tdy, 30th of april 2009 , my heart is filled with deep sadness and a strange feeling of helplessness anger and hatred! for those very ppl who came out of their home tat day who wantd a change in india, dint turn up to vote tdy!!!

the news reports say the voter attendance has dipped from previous polls of 2k4 and is hardly 50 % this time.

Shame on u mumbaikars shame on u !!!

u only talk bt whn it come to doing , u've failed urself, u have failed the nation and u ve faild all those ppl who died on nov last year , u failed the martrys major sandeep and the others, u faild the brave constable who even aftr his duty hours, took the bullets of the ak 47 of kasab and helpd his fellow policeman to capture him.......

my dear mumbaikar , u ve faild me!!!

NAHI CHALEGA!!

IPL -- A League led by a Frantic ?? Part 2

It is actually a matter of shame for me to write this blog entry doubting my country's ability to safe guard our guests and the general public!

The recent mumbai incident which has encrypted in itself a wound which we seldom can recover from , but praise the gr8 work of our army men who could bail us out from possibly even more tyranny!!

The attack on the Sri Lankan players in the heart of the neighboring country, is but just another shocking example of the level of the madness tat the terrorists could envict on anyone, anywhr, anytime!!

We've seen so many other illustrations where the attacks happen mostly when they r least expected!! It boils me , to having to think about safety of my family when they leave for their work places in the morning, i hope that we'll have a nice dinner tat night... more specifically, hoping tat they r still alive at end of the day!! It boils me.......

Ours is a nation of a Billion and more!! and its a matter of a PLAIN fact tat the govt cant police each and evry person residing in our nation, this far... they cant even stop so called "refugees" comming from bangladesh to enter our nation illegally and meddling wit our system !! this apart..

The point which i want to make here is there are bound to be a lot of loopholes in the system , which are but result of the huge mass of our nation!!

To top it all, we are celebrating our democracy next month, thru the General Elections !! and not that we need to be told, we 've already recieved open threats to the nation by the jihadi elements tat they wud disrupt elections ! today, i heard inteligence reports tat Bangalore's Vidhan Soudha and High Courts are under the terrorist's fanatic eyes !! Even God doesnt know wat evil they can cause!!

This is the brief and grim Situation of the Country's Sad Security is concerned!! {we are trying a person in court who took his AK-47 and shoot our brothers and sisters.... while the legislative is working on new laws where we can try a terrorist and finding an alternative to POTA or watevr... while these ppl have taken oath to submit their life in name of jihad! We 've to understand that we r dealing wit suicide killers and to my knowledge they r least bothered about their life , .... anyways... }

And while all this , We've Mr Lalit Modi , architect of IPL who comes into the picture .........

To be continued in next entry....

IPL -- A League led by a Frantic ?? Part 1

We all Know hw successful was the 1st Season of the Celebrated IPL- Indian Premier League was..... In Fact i watched most of the matches and tat too full matches, it being T20 was more than an incentive to sit in front of d Idiot box for d ful quota of lil more than half an hour over 2 hours of play with d world's best cricketers comming on the same platform and perforn, as it was the first time, i actually enjoyed it more than the world cup itself !!

It was a Great Success, despite the fact tat there were a few scars here and there, handfull of rifts, lil Controvercies not to mention Malya's firing of Charu Sharma , Bhajji Slapping Sree - he crying in front of the world, and Preety going to console him! , Sharukh Not allowed into stands for which he only sponsered and also ppl found doping which is was obvious black spot of the Whole event. Wowww.... It had evrything!

The Quality of Cricket Played was anothr high point of the IPL , all the 3 departments of the game were very well served by the players.. And i thoroughly enjoyed it !

All in All IPL was a gr8 hit and all couldn wait for the next season of IPL would return back to the small screen and ppl waiting to get into stands to see Ricky Pointing and Ishanth Sharma Play for d Same Team or Sehwag Yuvraj taking on Flintoff again while they r not playing in their Country Colours.... It would be a sight to watch !!!

But, Things have changed now.............. Quite dramatically !!

Its not the same situation as last time, its a Big responsibility on part of nation and the security forces , above all ,IPL as an institution to assure the Safe being of the Stake holders of the League, especially the Players and Public who come to watch the matches!!

To be continued in next entry....

Paradox

Mostly...World behaves Like a Mirror, If u Smile at it , it'll smile back at u.. If u make a weird face, it'll do the same! But the paradox is who will do the thing first? U r the WORLD?? 'm nt able to understand.

Slumdog Debate

at first when i saw d movie while all d hype was surrounding it, tot it has a worth while story to tell, so i began to watch, i was happy tat i gt a GOOD print to watch(b4 i watch d movie, i chk for d print :D ) then as the movie progressed , the movie goes on portraying , few may say deliberately ! abt the stuff a slum guy in mumbai faces.... frm his mom being hit by an angry mob driven by religious bias ... to children being driven in2 begging and prostitute hood....

i began to wonder wat effect it mite have on a young kid frm mumbai who mite watch this movie ... at first i couldn form a firm anti opinion abt it, prob cos i was over whelmed by the recognition it gt...but after sometime, be began to analyse what it means for the nation, i've had 2nd tots.

for a person like me , i'd anytime rate Legend Of Bhagat Singh or more rescently A Wednesday more than this movie , as i somehow feel it will make us more harm than good!

i can relate this slumdog story with "Blood Diamond" whr though the theme of the story is diff , it is similar in away that it portrays poverty and wat the directors think as seemingly hopeless situations , there it illegal diamond trade at cost of civilian lives.. here, not so severe but jus a hopeless catch 22 situation wit currupt police politics and society's image of slums... but it is dangerous to spread this view to the world abt this, i say thus as a patriot and not as a cinematic person .

and the director , speaking to a news channel when asked if he had shown the worst situations like a singing beggar's eyes being taken off by a quack or abt the shit holes deleberately to demean slums, he said tat he wanted to portray abt the extremes of this gr8 city, mumbai... to be frank, i was nt very much satisfied by his answer , as i couldn see any 2nd extreme in the film, i may be wrong though.. the film wanted to showcase mumbai as a slumcity , which though i cant deny at this movement, cant bear to think that this wil do us more harm than good! :(

with all due respect to film makers of Blood Diamond and Slumdog , both are extreamly good films cinematicaly ... one has bagged gold in some category, and other on its way, jus waiting for the day... but the ppl of that region, in heart would probably not be very comfortable to see it...

it is the American's (Oscar givin ppl ) who'll enjoy and film, but the regional ppl who shud/will feel the pain frm inside..

26th January 2009

A proud moment for me , and the nation as a whole! India celebrates her 60th Republic day . 1950, on the very day, India declared complete sovereignty and it meant more to us than just getting independence, it meant we were governing ourselves, a President was elected and hence the marvelous journey of the worlds largest democracy started and every year on this day, we the proud citizens of the nation of a Billion and more, forget our differences, unite and hail our Nation and remember those, the fore fathers of the Country, who gave their yesterday for purpose of our today!

This day, we forget all the failures of democracy, we've witnessed thru our eyes and think not of the corrupt Politicians who trade their portfolio for exchange of Rupees. We forget about those leaders who could not stand up to expectations and shamefully came back after every 5 years to beg for vote and would never show up for the next 5! We forget the Great Political mistakes, foreign policy or the steps taken for eradication of illiteracy and poverty . We forget about all those good for nothing criminals who are waiting to get out of the bars thru a bail plea and are sketching to stand in the next election. We forget about the regional and religious bias and all the reasons behind it .We forget about many things which make us feel ashamed if it were not 26th of jan or 15th of aug and come together as one nation , one unit which does not repent on the past mistakes but celebrates the success in grandeur and solace .. parading the 3 fronts of defense, The Army , The Navy ,The Air Force . We leave no leaf unturned for us to feel proud about ourselves, our great nation!

But , India in the recent past has been under attack by foreign forces , and the matter of greater concern is the mode of attacking and more importantly the frequency of it!!

Our country, a Super Power in the making , is too much to bear for few of our neighboring countries, so they are apparently waging a proxy war on our country to divert the attention of the govt and reduce the growth rate of India. One can imagine the level of desperateness, by seeing the strikes on Bangalore ,Tata Institute and more recently , and more seriously , Mumbai, The Financial Capital

I came across news yesterday, that 2 Terrorists were killed in an encounter , near Noida . They were traveling towards New Delhi , and heavy ammunition like 2 Ak 47 , 1Kg of Rdx , Hand ful of grenades and detonators were recovered...I came to know that it was a joint operation of ATS and Noida Police .. 3Cheers to them!!!.... But , I cant stop to think that there is more to it than what meets the eye , were these 2 Terrorists a part of a bigger team ? were more than these 2 ppl traveling towards our Country's capital? is there a chance of an attack tom also?

I believe , thousands of police and army men like the NSG , etc are on standby and in full alert for any kind of mischief played by insane terrorists, having said this , we got to be pro active and not spare even a shadow of doubt and make sure that Country is not embarrassed at least on this day ! i say this with a great sense of insecurity to be frank , as it seems improbable to seal off all the loopholes we have created ourselves , and of course, i wont be over optimistic as we are a nation of enormous land mass! but still have faith in Country's defense to counter attack.

Traditionally, 26th has been a Favorite day for all the terrorists to vage an attack , and this 26th we have to extra bit care ful to make sure that we dont have to look down upon ourselves atleast today, the day we celebrate our Democracy!!

Wishing you a Great Republic Day ,
Hoping to see a better Future

Nice tot aint it!

i'm one of the thousands of followers of BIG B's blog! today, when i saw his entry,he for past few days is writing abt the mumbai massacre and stuff related to it..
this was one of the comments he recieved ....

Though Indians have paid a big cost….because sometimes the deal turns out to be costly….but look at the other side it, we should be thankful to the coward terrorists………who attacked Mumbai…..they did something unknowingly…..for sure they would have never imagined…They have done what our politicians could never do during last 61 years…..The have brought all Indians together…….!!

worth a tot !

yet another tragic date with 26th......

Be it 2001 Jan 26th , when an earthquake rocked India with its epicentre at BHUJ, or be it the 2004 26th DEC Tsunami which devastated the coastal region of India and now, 26th of NOV 2008 has shocked us and the mixed emotions grief, anguish , anger, scare, insecurity, distrust and wat not!

only change this time is tat this is but not natural disaster but a dasterdly act of insane, inhuman nature which wants to spread terror into the minds of the ppl of the world! they have only this as their goal.... and 'm affraid they have succeeded this time.... DAMN!

Winner

well, the pic says it all, doesnt it?

I often THINK! abt what i'm and wat v r supposed to do etc...

but one thing strikes me is the concept of a man's life!

wat is it? a baby is born... he is introduced to a world.. he gets his education , works earns money settles down in life, gets retired from work, leads retired life, performs his duties towards his family/ society and finaly one day, he dies!! tats abt it rite... {lets not mix this discussion with concept of re birth and all... 'm talking of 1 instance of life.. ie present "life"}

hmm.. pretty vague na? yea i kno... :D i like it dat way ;)

but y 'm i telling u all this ?

i wanted to relate the concept of life to wat it takes to win / succeed...i mean to say, everybody is gonna face ups and down in life...and after all that hungama, finally evry one is gonna die some day... and then he takes nothing materialistic from this world...

so y bother of loss? y do we think tat when we face some problems while working, we should quit...

anyways v all r say good bye to this life some day.. so, i feel v've nothing to loose but every thing to gain...

life is a chance they say, not a choice! true... why leave this chance go to a waste...

why should i stop myself?
why should i stop being me?
why should i stop when going gets tuf?
why should i....????

only thing i ask myself is "MAY I BE ? "
then i get my answer.. and i go on...

i dont care what the result would be.... i wont quit...
i wont give up...

i belive a brave death in the battlefield is far better than a comfortable life as a subordinate to an enemy!

my father tot me....

HOPE FOR THE BEST n PREPARE FOR THE WORST !

my message is that no matter what happens , dont quit, and never say no...and u'll be a WINNER in life by DEFAULT...

A Life Dedicated...

these words come deeply from my self....

i know hw it feels like dedicating oneself to something... i've been in touch wit many ppl who have done so... and 'm also in process of doing vaguely something similar...

i wonder... wat it takes for such ppl to take such a BIG decision on their side...
its not very often that u find a person seeing all tat is there around him... al the influences,, environment.. positive or negetive... get this feeling...

i said i'm in process of doing something similar....

its really very strange/not - normal .. i guess , from an outsider perspective that one person doesn care to ENJOY his life like its just one! and nothing after that.. but struggle hard , be an something different from the others in general...

they might ask ... why is he doing this...? wat for?? is it called for?? why this?? why him...? what a waste.....

but, from a personnel experiance.. i'd like to share some of the things which might be going in mind of a person whom we are talking abt..

ofcurse.. none are the same...

everybody are unique in there own way...

i remember my teacher in highskool told me casually...

Uniquness is not Unique at all.

but anyways.. we will by grossly come to a conclusion tat there are certain CATEGORIES of ppl.. this is wit no dsrespect to indivisuality...

well continuing...

i guess there are phases in dedicating oneself for a purpose...

i'll tell first itself tat its jus my opinion on date.. it might change subsequently.. as and when i realise higher truths...

k.. getting back..

i was tellin abt d phases rite...

1> there is something called SAMSKAR in the person...
--- he is brought up in an environment.. it bears a high degree of influence on the person's thinking ability, point of view...

2> he finds something is not right somewhere....
--- he tries to search for wat is not rite...
--- then he searches for wat is d cause for it...

this may take a lot of time...

for if he has to be sure... and it might so happen tat he realises higher truths during course of time....

but he constantly wants update himself abt wat was wrong and wat is the cause of it..

3> now, that he has an idea of wat d cause is... he starts to think!!
-- this is a very deeply intuitive in most cases... (i guess)
-- he is very much concerned abt the prob now...
--- he is constantly thinking of it...
weather he is listning to a song or talking to a frnd or riting his assignment..

there are very few things which have higher priority than it...
he wud be so much in2 it tat he does not CARE abt anything else... i mean to say.. IT MAKES VERY LIL DIFF TO HIM

4> this is the stage where he takes his pledge..

-- he wud dedicate his life to it...
it doen mean tat he won do any other work ...
but his primary interest lies in solving the prob, and make the world bettr thru solving that prob...

few times...
if he has to chose btw frnds family or work..

he wud choose work unless there is real situation!

he doesn care wat others think of him,,, this i guess is a very bold move he takes...
he ceases from or tries to cease from attachment.. his goal is to solve the prob.. he wud do anything for it...

i assure u that there are really very few, who have reached this stage wanting something back from his work...

they don want fame, name any any worldly things... for them tat is not the prority...

and further i would stick my neck out and say 1 more thing...

the ppl who do follow this path, with /without notice are following wat is called "karma yoga"

it says tat u do work... for works sake..
and after ur work is done, surrender it to god and forget abt it.. in d sence, results

and there is one more suggestion.. tat its not the KARTARA-- doer who is important..

but the KARYA-- work is!!

so one has no room for EGO here...

its not he who is noticed by all.. it is the work...

this inherantly makes his ego to dissapear and he has no worries at all,,, he just concentrates on his work...

The right thing to do...

often it so happens that we wish to be the perfect examples to others... hoping to be idols to a few,may be in your own little way..... eg-- a bus conductor gives tickets to all, checks for passes... and doesnt take that silly Rs 2-3 bribe to bar a Rs 5 ticket.

every one tries to set himself as a example. he tries his best, i feel ,everytime he does something... he conciously thinks if it is the right thing to do or not... are there better ways to deal with it....

a geeky student reviews his methodology of study, way he conducts himself in class, way he speaks to his teacher.. way he mingles with his classmates ,i've observed very cautiously! he is thinking while he is speaking .. weather wat he is doing befits him...

i've realised myself, every movement u lead , when u want to do things through which u want to motivate ppl into a higher level, there is a considerable amount of "pressure" on u... few invisble eyes are watching u, u feel.....

then.... the "Right Thing to do" is always "Hardest" to think of, and further "Tuffer" to "Do"

few ppl who are role models to entier world ... have had to make such decisions!

that is wat that make them role models....

that is wat that make them Great...
