Carbon 60 Fullerene-- Football

Hey!! this model i made 2-3 years back ... had made similar models before...

this is technically called as a Fullerene!

u guys know wat a Fullerene is right?? well, if u dont .. no big deal..
click on this link.. u'll know watever there is to know about a Fullerene

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fullerene

In Laymen terms... it is a spatial arrangement of CArbon Atoms...

there are two Fullerenes 'm aware of..

1> CArbon 60 -- Football
2> CArbon 70 -- Rugby Ball

yes! carbon 60 is nothing but a FOOTBALL!

so now, i guess u'll be able to see that carbon 60 thing is same as our futball... :)

k now.. i'll show u d model i made..

i colour coded it .. pentagons(5 sided figures) in yellow

and hexagons(6 sided figures) in some orange kind of colour...

1 thing which u wont be able to see is that on d top i've made a hole.. to acomadate a small bulb...

if u would switch it on, only the pentagons are highlighted!
i mean i'd used a thinner card board for pentagon and thick one for hexagon.. got it?

anyways for info,

football = 20 haxagons + 12 pentagons

all the sides of a pentagon are inturn attached to 5 other hexagons

and for a hexagons, alternative sides are attached to a hexagon and a pentagon...

if u wanna try it out nd need some help..

'm always a click away...

wish to here frm u ppl..

Origamy

this is again something which 'm very passionate abt...

for those who are wondering wat 'm talking abt...
i'll tell u wat this origamy is...

this is supposed to be ART ... from card board/paper

its origin is frm japan i guess... may be china.. i donno

anyways.. i like it!

it was dec 24th christmas eve, tat eve in planitarium there was a demo class of Origamy aking place...

frm our coll, many 10th std students took part...

i was in 9th ... by some way, i convinced my vice principal tat i also wud acompany them .... well, i did..

frm tat day, started a remarkable journey in to the world or car board..

i've thoroughly enjoyed the experiance...

learned many a lessons frm it....

made PROPER GEOMETRIC MODELS on demand for my school, PU College, and even Engineering College!

i've not taken pics of many of my models...

and also they are not with me...

many are with the respective institutions.. few with my friends(whom i gifted to... )
hope they take deserved care.... and rest of them either worn out or stepped upon or... many ways to loose it.. hehe

PS: Origamy is a BIG branch concerned with card board art...

'm only into a part where u develop POLYHEDRONS from card board..
this requires knowledge of geometry... angles, no.. of sides, metrics.. etc

i'll upload few pics and explain as to how it is done...

Begining Of Change...

When I was in 9th Std, In many ways Rennaisance of Myself took place...

I was doing many things, I experimented with stuff...

i many a times put myself in ackward positions.. not bothering how it would affect me...

i used to ask many a doubts in class... not tat it was NOT-NORMAL , but the FEELING of ENQUIRY was very EVIDENT !

i began doing some scientific experiments... i genuinely tried to DISCOVER something...

i used to play wit MAgnets, electricity, wires .. well wat ever i could get my hands to.. hehe

My father used to remind me that i was still a student, not JUST a SCIENTIST, and the scientist {and othr extra curicular works} should happen after i've done with studies for the day...
But most of the time, i was other way around...

My arguement was that in 9th std, the final score doesn matter much, it doesn matter if i scored 80 % or 85% it both would mean the same thing, this year let me concentrate on the other funky stuff..
and 10th ,i'll defenitely STUDY ,FULL TIME...

it was an arguement he din accept straight away, i guess he hesitantly made himself to agree.. otherwise he wouldn allow me to do wat ever i did do! for my APPA(father) is a tuf task master.. he makes sure he gets d best out of me... i'm having very high regards on him in more ways than 1 .

i went to Planitarium Classes every sunday, i din understand much of wat was done, but still few % did filter in2 my porous brain :P

though setu(my friend) knows the actual truth wat happend ,i'll stick my neck out and say tat i won "young inventer" prize.. many of us did... basically for innovation in science

i'd done some work on "contact force in magnetism" .. later on i found tat tat work was already been done by some guy way before itself :D

anyways.. nice attempt huh ?? :)

i hope my classmates remember about it, no regrets even if they doont... i fought my way thru to get a hands on experiance in a Field trip arranged by my school,

it was in GML - GEOLOGICAL AND METALURGICAL LAB ...

a pool of hand picked students were given a chance to actually go to GML in class hours and get to know hw the metalurgical tests work!!

we also did them ourselves,,,

we demonstrated it to our other classmates as well

I should Thank my School Authorities and foremost Dr Raghavendra, GML better known as Ananya Raghavendra to have humbly given us a chance to see and experiance the lab environment!!

its VERY RARE to get such chances...

then, i tot .. well worth a fight ,tat oppurtunity!! hehe

i also formulated few theorems on Triangles...

it were all correct but i guess, like before pre done...

I did many othr things when i was in 9th...

all in all..

it is one of the turning points of my life where i gt this hunger to learn outside wat is there in text book... hunger to rise above and succed... hunger tat would grow and grow...

and be wat it is.. now.. still growing never ceasing to stop...

i only hope, i can acomplish wat ever i've set out to...

stepping over ego..

How to Live

Krishna says....

"One should live in this world like a Water Droplet on a Lotus Leaf, there should be contact.. but no attachment"

he explains...

"we should live with our hands to work and Heart to God"

Chalk Bird :)

well well...

this is my bird...

this is kind of thing to gift, i felt will express that he/she is spl

so.......... i did it !

For those who r wanting to know HOW it was done....

first of all, the main step is to gamble !!!

yes , gamble... with the Chalk Piece!

cos u dont want it to break up when u are doing d details... it hurts when it happens..

so choosing a chalk is one of the most imp steps in coming up wit d actual model!

after this is a much more sophisticated step...

VISUALIZATION.. this is the HARDEST part!

u got to SEE the MODEL when its not yet there.. this will demand a lot of concentration and SKILL.

this is tuffest part..

and after tat its pretty simple...

CArving stuff... 2-3 hours of non stop concentration, while enjoying the dust... being careful enough not get distracted, not to make a single mistake.. not to deviate from the original plan...
to make perfect curvature.... tats abt it...

u've ur piece ready.. filled with LOOOOOOOOOOOOOt of love n care...

and now u mite think all d work is done...

well, its not!

still d most important and d one which requires the MAX care is still left out...

and it is....

no prizes for guessing .....

PACkING!

i normally stuff it with whole lot of Soft cotton...with considerable amount of fear actually...

why, i'll tell u..

after all d good work if u loose ur piece jus because it BROKE makes u go GUGUGAGA! ask my friend setu,i'd lost my temper once whn i screwed up a piece, while talking a snap shot.. after tat i've been ever so care ful

i don even allow anyone to tuch my finished models... not even ... well no one!

i carefully put it into some box, with lot of cotton gift pack.. and keep it ready...

and for this reason , i do it only on d day before somebody's bday!

well ,i've not told u till now i guess...

i do it only for frnds...
idon have any of these models wit me..
i've gifted them all.....

:)

PS :

i don use any spl kind of chalk ...

i use normal DUSTING chalk, which costs Rs 1 for 3 pieces :P

Helix!

i was always facinated by d shape of a Helix, 1 half of DNA!

so..........

here it is.. i pushed myself to do it on chalk!

belive me..this is tuf!

Chess

aaahh ... chess is my avenue... i cant call myself a pro by any means, but this is the game i'm best at.

so.....

y not do chalk models of chess pawns i tot.... ??

:) nice idea aint it?

C C -- Chalk Chains !!

yes yes yes.... we can do chains wit chalk....

let me admit, chalk art is tuf work! it takes ur time,ur eye "power" is increased (to a negetive level) , u get ur eyes strained.. if u 've breathing problems u better stay away cos the chalk dust is first thing u want to avoid!!. above all it aint donkeys work, u got to have SKILL! if u've lack of it, trust me, u need to GET some SKILL....don ask me how... hehe :D

but if u do it for self satisfaction, or to bring a smile on somebody's face who sees it... or to gift it to someone spl ... its worth it!!

i started off doing small 2 chains of calks, at first i rarely succeded
and it was a huge moral booster for me every time i improved upon my mistakes...

my principle is -- to never repeat a particular mistake, its ok to do some other mistake but not d same mistake over n over again, it would confirm tat i'd not learnt anything from it...

so i went along correcting myself... day in and day out,,,

i remember i used to do it in my college also, i was so curious to make a chain out of chalk i would strive any harder if it demanded!

then 1 fine day i succeded .. i'd got a hang of it...

these were my first chalks :)

hmmmm.. now my basics were kind of good...
only way to test it was to take a tuffer task...
i often do this... when i get to know something i throw a challenge to myself, "lets see if u can do it... "

i like it!

but this time, it was not jus a challenge, it was a let out for my feelings....
i wanted to gift my art.... so i better do it good ......

this was wat i did....

i'd like to add tat i did this on my busiest day of my life... :)

Chalk and................

a billion thanks to my friend Poshith(cant express in words hw i feel)to have introduced to me to the "WORLD OF CHALK ART" ....

and from then onwards, i've done quite a few art pieces(well, i like to call them so :D )

i'll in course of few blog postings share wit u some of the chalk pieces i've made...

for now, this is how all d chalk arts begin!

with jus a piece of chalk :)

Aryan Invasion Theory...

Aaaahhh... U know wat, When ever 'm feeling Cold, first thing i'll think of is "Aryan Invasion Theory"

Guess Why???

Cos..... It BOILS me, and i'm BAck to My Normal Body Temp :D

Anyways... comming back to serious things

i vividly remember.... i was in 8th, we were being tot History of India...

teacher said abt Indus Valley CIvilisation... I was more than Happy to learn tat my country was one of the ancient civilisations.... dating back to 2500 BCE.

then I came to know that actuality is far from wat is being tot in class....

i got to know we are being mislead...

its not that this topic being right or wrong does bring a great deal change in our way of lving..

Then y bother, few may think...

well, It concerns about the History of our nation!
if somebody tricked u and told Ur mother was meant to be defeated time and again, never to rise back.... Being ruled by different ppl(foreigners) in diff times.... it woudn make u feel happy does it..

esspeacially when the truth is my mother was/is THE JAGAdGURU .. a Teacher To the Whole World!!!

My friends, it does make a difference in understanding the greatness of our country....

I've made a small ppt about topic of Aryan Invasion theory,

i've put it up in a google grp "Aryyan Invasion Theory" -- for reasons i've made this grp as private...

u can join the google grp thru my invite.. jus let me know... k

if u want to see the ppt, jus mail me and i'll fwd it back in no time..

my email -- varundesh@gmail.com

google group -- http://groups.google.com/group/aryanit

hopefully all our brothers and sisters come to know about glory of Mother Bharat...

I'll from now keep creating ppts and upload ...

cos i feel surfing thru a ppt is much more user friendly than reading a 1000 page book!

jay Bharat, Vande Mataram

RashtrotHanaM Idam SharIIram

I've not keen on a particular way, a particular direction .. 'm still finding methods , visions to do it....

But, i've decided 1 thing, I'm for my nation .... "RAshtrotHanaM Idam SharIIram"

"My Body is for upliftment of Nation's Glory"

I shall do the best i can to bring back my country's lost glory...

a verse close to my heart...

" Itini Shakti Hamein Dena Daata
Ki Man Ka Vishwas Kamzoor Ho Na
Ham Chalein Ek RAste Pe Hamse
Bhool Kar Bhi Koi Bhool Ho Na

...

Hum Na Puche Diya Kya Huwa HAi
Ham Yeh Puche Kiya Kya Hai Arpan....

....

Itini Shakti Hamein Dena Daata
Ki Man Ka Vishwas Kamzoor Ho Na"

The right thing to do...

often it so happens that we wish to be the perfect examples to others... hoping to be idols to a few,may be in your own little way..... eg-- a bus conductor gives tickets to all, checks for passes... and doesnt take that silly Rs 2-3 bribe to bar a Rs 5 ticket.

every one tries to set himself as a example. he tries his best, i feel ,everytime he does something... he conciously thinks if it is the right thing to do or not... are there better ways to deal with it....

a geeky student reviews his methodology of study, way he conducts himself in class, way he speaks to his teacher.. way he mingles with his classmates ,i've observed very cautiously! he is thinking while he is speaking .. weather wat he is doing befits him...

i've realised myself, every movement u lead , when u want to do things through which u want to motivate ppl into a higher level, there is a considerable amount of "pressure" on u... few invisble eyes are watching u, u feel.....

then.... the "Right Thing to do" is always "Hardest" to think of, and further "Tuffer" to "Do"

few ppl who are role models to entier world ... have had to make such decisions!

that is wat that make them role models....

that is wat that make them Great...
